News Business Analyst – Digital Subscription

About This Role

This role will shape the insights, financial understanding, and business analysis that fuel Apple News' subscription strategy and feature development, partnering with Business leadership and cross-functional teams to assess opportunities and guide planning.

Responsibilities

• Analyze subscription KPIs, performance trends, and business metrics to uncover drivers, risks, and opportunities.
• Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses to support product planning and strategic decision-making.
• Prepare business reviews, dashboards, and presentations for leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate the projected impact of new features, content additions, licensing initiatives, and subscriber experiences.
• Partner closely with the team to translate business needs into actionable insights for Product, Engineering, and Partnerships.
• Support the development and refinement of roadmap proposals by assessing financial implications and subscriber outcomes.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses to support pricing strategies, retention programs, and feature investment decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners in multiple offices, with up to 25% travel for planning sessions, workshops, and on-site collaboration.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, business analytics, or strategy roles.
• Strong analytical and modeling skills.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and recommendations.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with comfort presenting to internal stakeholders.
• Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Statistics, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, business analytics, or strategy roles.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in subscription-based, content-driven, or media businesses.
• Familiarity with digital content performance or subscription funnels.
• Comfort working with cross-functional partners, particularly Finance, Analytics and Engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to operate with curiosity, attention to detail, and a drive to improve processes.
