New Store Retail Operations Manager

About This Role

Lead the operational setup and day-to-day functions of a new retail store, ensuring it is fully stocked, staff is trained, and operational processes are smooth and efficient from the ground up for a limited duration of up to 4 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all operational aspects of a new store opening, including store layout, merchandising, inventory control, and stock replenishment
• Coordinate and execute store openings in collaboration with cross-functional teams (marketing, HR, logistics, and visual merchandising)
• Ensure the store is ready for launch with all necessary operational systems in place (POS, stock systems, etc.)
• Hire, train, and manage a high-performing store team focused on delivering an exceptional customer experience
• Develop and implement training programs that equip staff with the skills to meet operational and customer service standards
• Oversee daily store operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and profitability
• Maintain and optimize inventory levels, ensuring that the store is always stocked with the right products
• Implement and monitor compliance with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards
• Monitor store performance, track sales targets, and work with the team to meet or exceed goals
• Manage store budgets, controlling costs and maximizing profitability

Requirements

• 5+ years of retail management experience
• 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial capacity
• Proven experience in opening new stores or managing large-scale retail operations
• Strong understanding of retail operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and sales forecasting
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and train a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
• Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for delivering an outstanding shopping experience
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
• Proficiency in retail management systems, POS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications

• 5+ years of retail management experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity
