Join the HCA Nurse Residency Program at Las Palmas Medical Center to transition from student nurse to registered nurse in the Emergency Room, gaining hands-on clinical and critical thinking skills.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental requirements and scope and standards of practice.
- Provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage”.
- Serve as an advocate for patients, families and caregivers to support an unparalleled patient experience.
- Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers and document administration of care.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitoring patient for therapeutic response and intervening as appropriate.
- Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate patient needs.
- Teach patients, families and caregivers about medical condition, treatment plan, medications, and follow-up measures.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
- No previous experience needed
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment
