About This Role

This role involves leading K-5 math curriculum and instruction across a network of schools. Key responsibilities include managing the adoption of High Quality Instructional Materials, ensuring alignment across grade levels, and strengthening math assessments to improve student outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and share a vision for instructional excellence in math and advocate for its implementation
  • Establish goals and prioritize initiatives to advance student achievement in STEM
  • Lead network-wide review of curriculum, standards, and student performance data to ensure alignment and rigor
  • Develop and update interim, mock, and gateway assessments
  • Maintain up-to-date scope and sequences, instructional guidance, and tools for STEM instruction
  • Articulate a vision for strong math instruction and HQIM implementation
  • Diagnose strengths and growth areas of programs and create action plans for improvement
  • Give feedback on professional development and classroom instruction
  • Develop, review, and/or revise assessments and curricular materials
  • Design and facilitate professional development for instructional leaders and teachers

Requirements

  • Master’s or higher degree in a related field
  • Classroom teaching or related instructional experience
  • At least 3 years experience in an urban charter school
  • Proven track record of academic success
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with diverse groups of professionals
  • Experience coordinating and delivering professional development
  • Skilled multi-tasker and excellent time manager
  • Strategic and critical thinker
  • Strong project-planning experience
  • Exceptional written, oral, and visual communications skills

Qualifications

  • Master’s or degree or higher in a related field, Education preferred
  • At least 3 years experience in an urban charter school
