About This Role

Provide high-quality service to guests at Nettuno, an elevated coastal Italian restaurant within Fairmont Breakers. This role involves taking orders, making recommendations, clearing tables, and ensuring guest satisfaction while adhering to hotel standards.

Responsibilities

• Uphold the Fairmont Breakers values and mission statement
• Adhere to company policy and procedures
• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Provide the highest quality service to all guests at all times
• Participate actively in the resolution of guest concerns
• Take orders, answer questions, and make recommendations for menu items
• Use appropriate upselling techniques
• Clear, clean, reset and maintain restaurant tables during shift
• Assist other Servers in offering the highest level of service
• Understand the processes of delivery and removal of all product and equipment
• Handle all guest checks according to Hotel policy
• Maintain pars and equipment as needed to successfully accomplish all restaurant service tasks
• Complete side work as assigned by Manager
• Engage and genuinely interact with guests while anticipating their needs
• Explain food and beverage items in detail to guests
• Follow all hotel standards, LQA standards, and Forbes 5 Stars standards
• Complete any necessary opening and closing paperwork and side work duties
• Work well with others as a team
• Prepare food and beverage as per guidelines
• Follow cash handling policies and procedures
• Assist in filling in at other F&B areas and/or outlets as needed
• Display a congenial appearance and is well groomed at all times
• Assist guests in a friendly, professional and polite manner
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance
• Follow directions from Manager at all times

Requirements

• 2+ years prior serving experience in a similar restaurant environment
• Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
• Excellent and polished communication skills
• Basic math skills and ability to use a calculator
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions
• Knowledge of Restaurant operations, its services, and facilities
• Superior guest service abilities
• Complete understanding of California serving guidelines
• Strong sense of urgency
• Pleasant and cheerful disposition
• High level of integrity
• Confident and professional appearance, meeting company grooming standards
• Adaptability in difficult situations with problem-solving abilities
• Eagerness and capacity to learn
• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications
