Municipal Banking Associate

About This Role

This role involves researching, analyzing, and underwriting municipal bonds while providing comprehensive account and service support to new and existing customers. The Associate will also assist the Municipal Banking department with daily operations and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Municipal Banking department with daily supervision and support of activities
• Write or review system queries and periodic reports for team members or the department
• Collect and compile lists of municipal bond sales for future sales, including preliminary underwriting data
• Produce pre-purchase analysis on all municipal bonds and conduct quarterly/annual reviews of investment securities
• Review investment bond portfolio
• Provide assistance during audits and exams
• Become familiar with Municipal and retail banking regulations and responsibilities
• Assist customers with opening new accounts, performing account maintenance, and resolving online banking issues
• Research and resolve customer issues, acting as a liaison between bank departments
• Maximize selling and referral opportunities within the department
• Maintain confidentiality with all information obtained

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in business or finance (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 2 years cash handling experience
• Good interpersonal, communication and computer skills
• Knowledge of computer operation and ability to utilize Bank’s software
• Initiative, reliability, and team-oriented attitude
• Strong ability to conduct customer relationships to enhance marketing effort
• Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, and high degree of accuracy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree - business or finance preferred; or equivalent work experience in a related field
• Minimum of two years cash handling experience, prior banking experience preferred
