MS Science Teacher

About This Role

As a Middle School Science Teacher, you will create and implement a flexible program and classroom environment favorable to student learning and personal growth, focusing on a relentless commitment to student greatness. You will develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines and motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge for an effective educational foundation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a program of instruction that adheres to the company's philosophy, goals, and objectives.
• Make purposeful and appropriate lesson plans which provide for effective teaching strategies and maximizes time on task.
• Present subject matter to students to maximize learning opportunity and provides real-world, application-based examples.
• Review student records to develop an understanding of each student's abilities and needs and maintain accurate and complete student records.
• Strive to maximize the educational achievement of each student.
• Utilize a variety of student learning modalities in each lesson and use differentiated instruction.
• Assess student strengths and weaknesses frequently, provide appropriate activities, and generate progress reports.
• Refer students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel.
• Assign lessons, correct student work, and review oral presentations.
• Coordinate class field trips and prepare students for state required achievement assessments.
• Keep current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory and share this knowledge for curriculum improvement.
• Assist in curriculum revision, selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, clean, safe, and maintains positive rapport with students.
• Develop reasonable rules of classroom/playground behavior and maintain order.
• Plan individual and group learning activities designed to meet instructional objectives and student's needs.
• Strive to establish cooperative relations and communicate with parents/guardians.
• Cooperate with administration, staff, and CSUSA members, maintaining confidentiality regarding student records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent
• Possession of valid teaching certification
• Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years successful teaching experience (may include Student Teaching Internship experience)
• Command of grades/subject-specific content and theoretical knowledge of learning theory
• Understanding of and commitment to company values
• Successful results of criminal and employment background check
• Effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills
• Adherence to the requirements of the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years successful teaching experience (may include Student Teaching Internship experience).
