MRI Technologist

About This Role

Perform diagnostic procedures utilizing MRI and imaging equipment to provide high quality, efficient care to patients of all ages, ensuring proper scheduling and quality control in the MRI area.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic procedures utilizing MRI and imaging equipment
• Perform all MRI procedures and is responsible for the quality control in the MRI area
• Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, positioning, procedure preparation and technical factors associated with the MRI systems
• Properly use RIS for scheduling exams, patient tracking, film tracking, and proper completion of exams
• Responsible for all other equipment used in MR (e.g. monitoring equipment, stereotactic biopsy equipment where applicable)
• Demonstrate enthusiasm in performing and accepting work assignments
• Assess a situation, consider alternatives, and choose an appropriate course of action
• Demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

Requirements

• Graduate of a Radiology School
• ONE of the following within 6 months of hire date: American Registration of Radiologic Technologists, ARRT (MR) certification OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT)
• Current CPR certification or must obtain during orientation period

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Radiology School
• Previous experience in an out-patient MRI role desirable.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in an out-patient MRI role
• Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) Certification from Texas Department of Health
• Registered Radiographer (ARRT) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) obtained within 60 months of employment start date
