MRI Technologist

About This Role

Operate MRI scanners to produce diagnostic images of patients' bodies, providing excellent customer service and guiding patients through the imaging process.

Responsibilities

• Screen patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
• Explain and prepare patients for MRI procedures, explaining the procedure, positioning patients appropriately
• Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body with minimal supervision or repeats scanned
• Provide patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
• Adjust MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed
• Follow physicians' orders precisely, conform to safety regulations, and accurately maintain patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
• Maintain an orderly and clean work area including equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
• Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
• Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
• Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary
