MRI Technologist - Cross Training Opportunity!

About This Role

This role offers an exceptional cross-training opportunity for technologists to become MRI Technologists within a growing, innovative outpatient imaging facility. The position provides comprehensive training and preparation to take the ARRT MR boards, supporting a new career path.

Responsibilities

• Operate all aspects of MR scanning unit, including extensive knowledge of the system's computer and all program modalities to perform scanning procedures and transfer images
• Evaluate screening to ensure patient safety in the magnetic field
• Consult with the Radiologist and implement proper scanning protocols as directed
• Complete daily work schedule, documenting in Zotec and on any required forms
• Monitor patient flow and accommodate unscheduled patients and add-on studies
• Perform all quality control testing, equipment calibrations, warm-up and shut down procedures with proper documentation as per office policy
• Advise the Chief Technologist/Office Administrator of the need for all maintenance, service and repair work
• Participate in office meetings, in-service programs, continuing education programs and other designated activity
• Respond to office codes, policies and procedures to ensure optimum patient, employee, visitor and physical plant safety and security
• Demonstrate competency in dealing with patients in all age categories: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric

Requirements

• Current or upcoming graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology, Ultrasound or MRI program
• Registered or registry-eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
• Current and valid American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support certification
• Willingness to receive training and certification in venipuncture for the injection of contrast media
• Willingness to complete MRI Cross Training program and successfully achieve the ARRT MRI registry

Qualifications

• AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology, Ultrasound or MRI program
• New graduate or experienced Technologist interested in MRI

Nice to Have

• Professional scanning experience for Registered ARDMS Technologists
