About This Role

The MRI Technologist I performs routine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures to support diagnostic and treatment services. This role is responsible for ensuring patient safety and comfort, producing high-quality images for physician evaluation, and maintaining compliance with department protocols and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Review MRI patient questionnaires and patient histories to identify potential contraindications, ensuring safety during scans.
  • Operate MRI and processing equipment proficiently, adhering to established safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Educate and prepare patients for MRI exams, addressing questions and alleviating concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with MRI safety standards, including maintaining MRI safety zones.
  • Document and correlate clinical history with exam findings for accurate information.
  • Maintain inventory of MRI supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and sterility.
  • Verify physician orders and patient identification prior to starting procedures to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor and maintain MRI equipment functionality, reporting issues promptly to appropriate personnel.
  • Provide instructions and support to patients during and after exams to promote understanding and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program
  • 0-2 years of clinical experience as a registered MRI Technologist
  • Knowledge of MRI principles, safety standards, and imaging techniques
  • Proficient in operating MRI equipment and associated software
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to assess patient needs and provide compassionate care
  • Detail-oriented with ability to follow established protocols and procedures
  • Basic computer skills
  • ARRT or ARMRIT certification/eligibility
  • BCLS certification

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program
  • 0-2 years of clinical experience as a registered MRI Technologist
