This Mohs Clinical Float position involves being trained in all areas of the Mohs surgery department, assisting the surgeon during procedures, and preparing tissues for microscopic slides. The role requires flexibility, versatility, and travel to multiple locations while focusing on compassionate patient care.
Responsibilities
- Make pre-op and post-op phone calls
- Numb patients for surgery
- Assist Surgeon during surgery with excisions and biopsies
- Place patients in rooms, take histories, and assist with surgeries
- Clean rooms and instruments for the next patient
- Conduct office and phone consultations
- Enter data into the EMR system quickly and accurately
- Take vital signs
- Clean and sterilize appropriate packs for surgery
- Stock exam rooms
- Administer syringes/injectables as needed
- Process tissue on cryostat or by manual methods
- Produce consistently good quality microscopic slides for Mohs surgeon review
- Assist other staff as needed depending on various office/provider needs
Requirements
- High School Graduate
- Clinical background knowledge
