Mobile Diesel Mechanic

About This Role

Perform mobile repairs and inspections on a variety of Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, including brakes, diagnostics, and electrical systems. This role involves managing maintenance procedures and accurately completing documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and inspections on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers (brakes, diagnostics, A/C, electrical, engine, exhaust, after-treatment, lift-gates, tires)
• Schedule and overlook all maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections
• Repair/replace vehicle/trailer components
• Open and close repair orders on a company-issued device
• Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck
• Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in a timely fashion

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of diesel and trailer repair experience
• Ability to work extended and/or irregular hours including weekends and holidays when needed
• Valid Driver’s License
• Self-motivated with excellent organization and planning skills
• Ability to utilize a computer/tablet for electronic processing of work orders
• 2 years of experience in performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections
• 2 years of experience in truck/trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of experience and education
• Basic computer skills
• Must possess proper tools

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of diesel and trailer repair experience preferred, 2 years of experience in performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections, 2 years of experience in truck/trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of experience and education.
