The Minor League Performance Dietitian Associate supports the Philadelphia Phillies Nutrition Department by providing applied performance nutrition services to minor league athletes at the Low-A level. This seasonal, temporary role involves implementing nutrition philosophy, facilitating high-quality food delivery, and providing individualized education to players and staff within a professional baseball environment.
Responsibilities
- Implement Phillies nutrition philosophies and standards at the assigned affiliate.
- Coordinate meals with clubhouse managers and caterers.
- Manage fueling stations, including stocking, organizing, ordering, and assisting athletes.
- Assess and analyze dietary habits, body composition, hydration practices, and energy balance of players.
- Conduct nutrition consultations to provide individualized nutrition strategies.
- Integrate with baseball and support staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to training, nutrition, and recovery.
- Collaborate with athletic training, rehab, and strength and conditioning staff for injured players.
- Oversee and conduct body composition assessments for assigned minor league affiliates.
- Stay up to date on scientific research and trends in performance nutrition and participate in continuing education.
- Assist with NSF Certified for Sports supplement ordering and inventory management.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification
- Minimum of 1-year of experience working with collegiate or professional athletes
- Foodservice/catering experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Drive, OneDrive
- Excellent time management, organizational, and record keeping skills
- Flexible schedule with willingness to work any time of the week
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience working with collegiate or professional athletes in an internship or a full-time job
Nice to Have
- Professional proficiency in Spanish
