Metal Grinder/Finisher

About This Role

Operate grinding machines to assemble products and parts according to blueprints and engineering specifications, ensuring products meet company appearance standards.

Responsibilities

• Grind, sand, and polish products efficiently and cost-effectively
• Check all dimensions against blueprints
• Finish products to meet or exceed company appearance standards
• Assist in Assembly as requested by supervisor
• Deliver and distribute all finished products to assembly
• Process job orders in a timely and accurate manner
• Log time spent on jobs into the shop management computer system
• Clean up work area at the end of each shift
• Assist in shop maintenance, including sweeping floors, cleaning bathrooms, and emptying trash

Requirements

• High school degree
• 2+ years of experience in metal grinding/finishing or related field
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Knowledge of material, methods, tools, and equipment
• Ability to operate hand and power tools
• Ability to interpret blueprints
• Ability to lift 50-90 pounds
• Ability to do excessive walking, standing, bending, and stooping

Qualifications

• High school degree in a related area
• 2 years of experience in the field or a related area; a formal apprenticeship may be required

Nice to Have

• Formal apprenticeship
• Ability to sketch schematics
• Awareness of NSF Standards
