About This Role

This role involves serving as a positive role model to support, lead, and encourage youth and young adults, fostering positive behavior, and designing activities to promote their overall well-being. The BHT will build strong personal relationships with participants and contribute to their treatment team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a positive role model to support, lead, and encourage youth and young adults
  • Form lasting relationships and encourage positive behavior
  • Design activities to promote the overall welfare of participants
  • Increase knowledge of social work, behavioral studies, and management skills
  • Provide individual or group sessions focusing on General Mental Health (GMH), Substance Abuse, Psycho-educational Topics, Anger Management, Emotion Regulation, Grief/Loss/Trauma, and Healthy Relationships
  • Work closely with clients' treatment teams, families, and guardians to ensure effective services

Requirements

  • Meet minimum state licensing requirement for Behavioral Health Technicians or Para Professionals
  • At least 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience working with at-risk or behavioral health care with youth, teens, or adults
  • Valid AZ Driver's License with no restrictions
  • Ability to complete criminal history self-disclosure affidavits
