Member Advisor

About This Role

The Member Advisor serves as the primary point of contact for members, delivering exceptional service and financial education in a technology-enabled branch environment. This role focuses on building strong relationships, identifying member needs, and guiding them through various credit union products and services, including digital channels and ITMs.

Responsibilities

• Embrace APGFCU’s brand and deliver financial education to members.
• Collaborate with teammates to maintain a welcoming, efficient, and secure branch environment.
• Welcome members, listen actively, and deliver prompt, personalized service, including performing lobby engagement activities.
• Assist members in navigating ITMs and digital banking tools, providing demonstrations and guidance.
• Develop lasting consumer and business relationships through follow-up, celebrating milestones, and proactive financial wellness support.
• Open new consumer and business accounts and perform routine maintenance on various account types.
• Identify, mitigate, and solve member problems effectively to drive member loyalty.
• Manage risk through adherence to all policies and procedures and participate in efficient and accurate branch daily operations.
• Acquire and deepen the branch member base through proactive sales and service activities, positioning APGFCU solutions.
• Drive proactive conversations through prospect and member interactions using a defined sales process, including outbound calling, service to sales, and lobby engagement.

Requirements

• One year of consultative sales experience
• Proven record of accomplishment building member loyalty and expanding financial literacy and well-being
• Knowledge of financial institution products and services
• Demonstrated ability to goal attainment
• Strong communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable using technology and teaching others how to use digital tools (ITMs, tablets, digital banking apps)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Numbers and detail oriented
• Ability to multi-task

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with additional specialized training equivalent to two years college, or equivalent experience.
• One year of consultative sales experience required with a proven record of accomplishment building member loyalty and expanding financial literacy and well-being. One to two years financial services experience, specifically with deposit and lending products and proficiency in interviewing loan applicants preferred.
