The Member Advisor serves as the primary point of contact for members, delivering exceptional service and financial education in a technology-enabled branch environment. This role focuses on building strong relationships, identifying member needs, and guiding them through various credit union products and services, including digital channels and ITMs.
Responsibilities
- Embrace APGFCU’s brand and deliver financial education to members.
- Collaborate with teammates to maintain a welcoming, efficient, and secure branch environment.
- Welcome members, listen actively, and deliver prompt, personalized service, including performing lobby engagement activities.
- Assist members in navigating ITMs and digital banking tools, providing demonstrations and guidance.
- Develop lasting consumer and business relationships through follow-up, celebrating milestones, and proactive financial wellness support.
- Open new consumer and business accounts and perform routine maintenance on various account types.
- Identify, mitigate, and solve member problems effectively to drive member loyalty.
- Manage risk through adherence to all policies and procedures and participate in efficient and accurate branch daily operations.
- Acquire and deepen the branch member base through proactive sales and service activities, positioning APGFCU solutions.
- Drive proactive conversations through prospect and member interactions using a defined sales process, including outbound calling, service to sales, and lobby engagement.
Requirements
- One year of consultative sales experience
- Proven record of accomplishment building member loyalty and expanding financial literacy and well-being
- Knowledge of financial institution products and services
- Demonstrated ability to goal attainment
- Strong communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable using technology and teaching others how to use digital tools (ITMs, tablets, digital banking apps)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Numbers and detail oriented
- Ability to multi-task
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent with additional specialized training equivalent to two years college, or equivalent experience.
- One year of consultative sales experience required with a proven record of accomplishment building member loyalty and expanding financial literacy and well-being. One to two years financial services experience, specifically with deposit and lending products and proficiency in interviewing loan applicants preferred.
