About This Role

This Medical Science Liaison role supports Amgen's mission of serving patients by communicating scientific information about Amgen's rare disease products to the medical community, specifically for NMOSD and gMG in the MN/ND/SD/IA/NE territory.

Responsibilities

  • Support the MSL TA head and local TA lead in developing local territory R&D tactics
  • Engage with healthcare partners to educate and communicate clinical and scientific data to advance the scientific platform
  • Educate and communicate clinical value, outcomes, and economic data to payers, providers, key partners, advocacy, and access enablers
  • Respond to unsolicited inquiries consistent with MSL compliance standards
  • Provide and/or present field observations and insights to internal collaborators
  • Implement a scientific engagement plan according to annual MSL goals and metrics
  • Develop and implement local OL plans in line with the scientific engagement plan
  • Support speaker training and ensure speakers are updated on new data
  • Lead and/or participate on project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics
  • Maintain clinical acuity and expertise and ensure timely completion of assigned training

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or DO) OR Master's degree and 3 years of Medical Affairs experience OR Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Medical Affairs experience
  • Ability to travel up to 60%

Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree OR Master's degree and 3 years of Medical Affairs experience OR Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Medical Affairs experience
  • 2+ years of proven experience in scientific or medical affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company AND 3+ years of clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research

Nice to Have

  • Two years of proven experience in scientific or medical affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company
  • Three or more years of clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research
  • Rare Disease therapeutic area expertise
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
