As a Medical Science Liaison, you will provide high-level scientific support to key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals within your assigned territory, focusing on oncology patients and advanced cell therapies for life-threatening diseases. This role involves scientific exchange, direct education on clinical data, and collaboration with cross-functional partners.
Responsibilities
- Identify and establish scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in academic and community institutions within the assigned territory
- Execute activities aligned with Medical Affairs strategies and tactics at the assigned territory level
- Assist in the oversight of Legend Biotech sponsored clinical trial sites including site identification, patient accrual discussions, and serving as primary field-based contact
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including those part of strategic alliances
- Assist with implementation and engagement of KOL participation in advisory boards, consultant meetings, and scientific gatherings
- Collect and communicate clinical insights and intelligence on the market environment, clinical strategies, and competition to Legend Biotech
- Represent and support Legend Biotech at Hematology/Oncology scientific meetings, interpreting and reporting findings with recommendations
- Serve as the primary local point of contact for investigators and their research staff for company-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials
- Provide clinical presentations and information delivery to healthcare providers in group and one-on-one settings
- Relay important medical insights to key Legend Biotech stakeholders gathered from field interactions and congress/meeting attendance
- Assist in the development of field-based MSL resources and training materials
- Maintain in-depth scientific and therapeutic knowledge, including Legend Biotech and competitive products, as well as disease states within the franchise
- Fully understand and apply MSL SOP's/guidelines and company HCC/Regulatory/Legal guidelines
Requirements
- Advanced terminal degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO) OR other advanced medical degree (NP, PA, etc.) with 2+ years relevant therapeutic area clinical experience
- 2-3 years relevant work experience (clinical, fellowship, or research) and/or related PhRMA work experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to partner and maintain relationships within the medical community
- Valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel (60% travel, including overnight and weekends)
- Comfort with utilization of computer, company applications, and remote technology
- Strategic thinking and strong geographical management skills
- Deep scientific expertise
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Adept at developing relationships and building networks
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Excellent organization skills and decision-making ability
- Must reside within the territory, or within a 30 minute commute from the nearest territory border
Qualifications
- Advanced terminal degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO) OR other advanced medical degree (NP, PA, etc.)
- 2-3 years relevant work experience (clinical, fellowship, or research) and/or related PhRMA work experience, with 2+ years relevant therapeutic area clinical experience if holding NP/PA degree
