Join a fun and energetic team at our Central Billing Office as a Medical Patient Account Representative. You will be responsible for rebilling, follow-up, and collection activities for assigned payers, and researching and resolving patient account balances.
Responsibilities
- Perform rebilling, follow-up, and collection activities for assigned payers
- Research, appeal, and resolve patient account balances
- Accurately and thoroughly document all collection activities
- Verify claims adjudication using appropriate systems and resources
- Initiate phone and written communication with payers and other responsible parties to secure reimbursement
- Edit and update claim information to ensure compliance with billing guidelines for electronic and paper submissions
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA privacy and security regulations when handling patient information
- Participate in monthly meetings, training seminars, and hands-on training
- Identify trends and recurring claim issues and assist with resolution efforts
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask with great attention to detail
- Outstanding customer service when communicating with patients and insurance carriers
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Work well in a team environment towards monthly, quarterly, and annual goals
- Strong knowledge of Billing/EMR software
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Insurance collections experience
