Medical Assistant - Peds Cardiac Services

About This Role

This role involves performing routine clinical and administrative duties to support pediatric cardiac services, ensuring excellent patient care and efficient office operations.

Responsibilities

• Follow-up on reported issues and assist with service recovery.
• Activate My Chart Accounts and ensure Telehealth connectivity.
• Maintain medical equipment and supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Manage in-basket messages and patient phone calls.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition, document care, and provide discharge instructions.
• Perform administrative duties such as scanning, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection, including phlebotomy and splint application.
• Review patient charts to ensure imaging and pertinent information are available.
• Review and document Social Determinants, providing education and resources as needed.
• Round with patients to ensure an excellent patient experience.
• Under supervision, assist with patient assessments and treatments.
• Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs, history, medications, and allergies.

• Graduate of an accredited EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or MA (Medical Assistant) Diploma program OR possess Medical Assistant Registration or Medical Assistant Certification OR have six (6) months of patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited EMT or MA Diploma program, or Medical Assistant Registration/Certification, or six months of patient care experience.
• No prior work experience required, or six months of patient care experience.
