This Medical Assistant II position provides patient care duties within the scope of practice for Medical Assistants in California and includes administrative tasks like scheduling and billing. The role supports clinic providers and licensed nursing staff in Family Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient care duties requiring specific knowledge and training within business and professions code of California and/or TJC regulations
- Schedule patient appointments and manage associated patient system screens
- Ensure accurate billing procedures
- Perform environmental care functions
- Manage equipment and supplies
- Clean and disinfect the environment
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within (6) six months of hire date
- Knowledge of medical terminology, online scheduling, universal precautions, and proper use of body mechanics
