Medical Assistant - Allergy

About This Role

This full-time Medical Assistant position provides direct patient care in an allergy clinic setting, supporting providers by preparing patients, assisting with procedures, and managing documentation and scheduling to ensure efficient clinic operations.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, check vitals, and assist with procedures
• Prepare clinic and assist with provider-specific protocols
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Organize and perform patient care services supporting the physician’s practice
• Relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
• Collect patient data in person and by phone
• Document patient concerns, messages, and care provided in the electronic medical record
• Administer medications specifically directed by the physician
• Schedule appointments and procedures
• Complete and accurate message taking
• Route messages to the appropriate area for direction
• Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
• Set up cases in EPIC including basic registration and updating of demographics

Requirements

• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
• BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
