Perform maintenance, service, and repairs across various areas including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and machine servicing for a hospital, ensuring a safe and functional environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, preventative maintenance, and basic repairs to equipment and systems, including plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry.
- Follow through on maintenance, preventative maintenance, and basic repairs to complete work orders in a timely manner.
- Check the daily work order system and complete high priority work orders as soon as possible.
- Assist in assembling and installing new equipment and completing renovations as directed.
- Perform snow removal, including plowing, shoveling, sanding, and salting, to ensure safe pathways.
- Use maintenance power tools such as saws, plumbing, and electrical test equipment.
- Perform a variety of tasks involving carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Remove debris from hospital grounds by various means.
- Regularly inspect life safety equipment and keep fire pathways clear.
- Repair, patch, and refinish paint or vinyl covered surfaces on the interior and exterior of the building.
- Report all safety incidents, accidents, hazardous conditions, and safety risks, taking appropriate action to correct them.
- Utilize Maintenance Department supplies and equipment effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure proper security for equipment and supplies.
- Maintain a clean, organized workshop and work area.
- Maintain order and report when parts/stock supplies are running low.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Driver’s license
- Minimum 3 years experience in HVAC, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, maintenance, or painting
