This role involves setting up and maintaining assigned equipment within the Maintenance Department, ensuring maximum production quality and taking corrective action for mechanical or operational problems.
Responsibilities
- Confers with supervisor at the start of each shift to determine work priorities, supplies, and resources needed
- Receives and prioritizes incoming service requests for completion
- Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans corrective action
- Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality
- Reviews production schedule and performs equipment changes or scheduled maintenance when not manufacturing
- Tests equipment to check operation prior to returning to production
- Examines, tests, and measures product from assigned equipment for quality specifications using gauges and instruments, recording data on appropriate forms
- Performs preventative maintenance checks and reports recurring equipment failures to department supervision
- Instructs and directs any assigned maintenance trainees
- Cleans and washes equipment and machines
Requirements
- 2 year associates degree in Mechanical Maintenance
- 5 years as a Journeyman A
- Manual dexterity skills
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints
- Ability to operate material handling equipment
- Ability to effectively communicate with written and verbal communications
- Satisfactory company work records including attendance
Qualifications
- 2 year associates degree in Mechanical Maintenance
- 5 years as a Journeyman A in Mechanical Maintenance
