Meat Lead

About This Role

Lead the meat and seafood department in the absence of managers, ensuring excellent customer service, proper merchandising, and adherence to company standards.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist leadership in the needs of the department
• Provide excellent customer service
• Oversee the seafood and meat department in the absence of the managers
• Procure products, focusing on best quality and price
• Develop creative and aggressive merchandising plans
• Order and manage all supplies and products
• Train and work with staff to ensure quality and standards
• Support department sales and labor budget, grosses, and reports
• Ensure proper merchandising and signage on all products
• Keep the POS department updated on scannable price changes
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships
• Manage, maintain and track shrink and inventory
• Stay current with industry trends, standards and changes
• Maintain department cleanliness, product freshness, and variety
• Ensure the dissemination and adherence to all company policies
• Adhere to proper waste management and recycling procedures
• Maintain adherence to all security and safety policies

Requirements

• Journeyperson Meat Cutter
• Interest and enthusiasm for meat/cooking
• Excellent customer service skills
• Flexibility to work mornings/afternoons/evenings/weekends/holidays
• Intermediate computer skills including MS Office
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. regularly
• Must be 18 years or older
