This role involves planning, delivering, and evaluating health education programs for pregnant individuals, infants, children, and families, focusing on culturally responsive and evidence-based practices. The educator works to reduce health disparities, improve outcomes, and empower parents through informed health decisions.
Responsibilities
- Provide training and orientation for new hires
- Provide ongoing education for staff in L&D, Mother Baby, Nursery, and Pediatrics
- Facilitate annual skills and drills
- Review current literature to update clinical policies and procedures
- Monitor patient care quality
- Audit documentation and implement changes to improve clinical outcomes
- Work with physicians, unit managers, and leadership to identify learning needs
- Ensure staff training meets hospital policies and state/federal standards
- Maintain employees’ files, credentials, and continued education
Requirements
- 2 years’ clinical experience in Maternal Child Service field
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 2 years’ clinical experience in the Maternal Child Service field
