This role supports U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) by integrating and synchronizing Department of Defense (DoD) military activities with United States Government (USG) strategy. It involves developing strategies, campaign plans, and concepts of operation to achieve desired end states. The position requires organizing, directing, and coordinating all task order activities related to strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Organize, direct, and coordinate planning and production of all task order activities.
- Provide analyses, recommendations, and draft products for joint planning team and working group review and approval.
- Support developing orders, analysis, estimates, and briefings for USCENTCOM leadership and staff, DoD, Interagency, Allies, Coalition members, and partner nation leaders.
- Assist with evaluations and recommendations to Divisions and Branches for directing, coordinating, and conducting joint combatant command level planning process.
- Provide subject matter expertise on all aspects of the Joint Operational Planning Process (Mission Analysis, COA Development, COA Analysis, COA Comparison, Decision).
- Provide subject matter expertise on Plans and Order Development by analyzing COA decisions, mission statements, commander's intent, and guidance.
- Conduct orderly handovers of plans for order development to those tasked with execution of the operation or campaign.
- Provide situational awareness and rationale to USCENTCOM leadership and staff regarding key decisions for transition from planning to execution.
- Facilitate coordination across working groups, JPT, OPT, LRPE, administrative support staff, Components, Interagency, Allies, Coalition members, and partners for plan development.
- Assist with the management of working groups by contributing to reports, conducting analytical research, and providing alternative solutions and assessments of long-range impact.
Requirements
- TS/SCI security clearance
- Master's degree
- Graduate from a specified advanced military warfighting school (JAWS, SAMS, SAASS, SAW, or MAWS)
- 10 years of planning experience
- 5+ years of planning experience at a Geographic or Functional Combatant Command Headquarters
Qualifications
- Master's degree and graduate from Joint Advanced Warfighting School (JAWS), School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), School of Advanced Air and Space Studies (SAASS), School of Advanced Warfighting (SAW), or Maritime Advanced Warfighting School (MAWS).
- 10 years of planning experience, with a minimum of 5 years' planning experience at a Geographic or Functional Combatant Command Headquarters.
