This role involves operating City buses safely on assigned routes to transport the general public, collecting fares, and recording ridership statistics for reports.
Responsibilities
- Operate City buses to transport the general public safely to and from destinations on assigned route
- Collect fares
- Collect ridership statistics for municipal and government reports
Requirements
- High school education or G.E.D.
- Valid State of Iowa Class B commercial driver’s license instruction permit
- Valid State of Iowa Class B commercial driver’s license with passenger and air-brake endorsements required upon completion of training period
- Meet federal drug testing requirements
- Pass pre-employment drug screen
- Must be 18 years of age
- Pass criminal background check
Qualifications
- High school education or G.E.D. or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Seven to twelve months of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in mass transit operations or related is preferred.
