Marketing & Social Media Coordinator

About This Role

The Marketing and Social Media Coordinator will perform marketing duties for the Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo, focusing on programs and events, including creating and coordinating social media and digital advertising content.

Responsibilities

• Assist Marketing and Events Lead in the development and distribution of digital and print collateral to publicize museum programs, public hours, exhibits, special events and brand awareness
• Work with Marketing & Event Lead to develop an annual marketing plan and calendar
• Work with staff to gather ideas and content (images, videos, etc.) for social media
• Execute social media and digital advertising calendar
• Create fliers for on-site promotion of programs and special events
• Help maintain contact lists for constituents-families, schools, partner organizations, and other organizations through which the museum advertises programs, exhibits, and events
• Create detailed analytical reports measuring success rates of social media, digital advertising, and website placements using Google Analytics and other similar tools
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required

Requirements

• 2 years of marketing, communications and/or social media experience
• Demonstrated excellent writing and oral communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or AA degree with emphasis on marketing or communications
• Two years of marketing, communications and/or social media experience

• Some graphic design ability
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational and follow-through skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as required
• Demonstrate written and verbal public communications skills
• Demonstrate flexibility in a rapidly changing environment
