Marketing & Events Intern

About This Role

Join the City of Oak Creek's Marketing & Events Team as an intern to gain practical experience in coordinating and supporting community events within a local government setting. This role focuses on event logistics, vendor and partner communication, on-site execution, and ensuring city events run smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning and promotion of local City events.
• Collaborate with team members and volunteers to ensure successful event execution.
• Help manage the Food Share program at the Farmers Market.
• Support the creation of engaging content for the City’s website and social media channels.
• Help track event analytics and compile data.
• Proofread and edit marketing materials.
• Dive into various marketing and communication tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Full-time college student studying marketing, public relations, communications, event planning, or a related field.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office and Canva.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to juggle multiple tasks.
• Positive attitude and ability to work independently and with a team.

Qualifications

• College student studying marketing, public relations, communications, event planning, or a related field.

Nice to Have

• Experience with digital cameras and photo editing.
• Previous experience with customer service or cash handling.
• Experience planning events or managing volunteers at an event.
• Experience working at community events such as festivals, farmers markets, or others.
