Lead production efforts in the manufacturing of electro-mechanical assemblies, focusing on electronic assembly operations such as SMT and through-hole soldering, optical fiber, and hybrid wiring harness assemblies. This role involves interpreting specifications, procuring tools, ensuring production goals, and potentially leading a team in a defense/aerospace manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical and electronic components, wiring harnesses, and other electrical assemblies and subassemblies.
- Manufacture electronic/electrical circuitry, electronic components (CCA's), and wiring harnesses according to Manufacturing Orders (M.O.), Drawings, Engineering Changes, Customer Specifications, and Process of Instructions (P.I.).
- Understand and interpret IPC/J-ST, AS, and MIL specifications as they relate to Defense/Aerospace.
- Procure the necessary tools, parts, and consumables for all assembly applications.
- Check stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assemblies, parts, and fasteners.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.
- Work as either an individual contributor, in a team environment or as a designated team lead.
- Ensure production goals and expectations are achieved.
Requirements
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of defense/aerospace manufacturing experience
- Familiarity with and understanding of ESD, IPC620, J-STD, AS and MIL specifications as they relate to Defense/Aerospace requirements in electro-mechanical applications, cables, harnesses, PCBA
- Mastery level knowledge of "build to print" operations
- Superior knowledge of applicable specifications required to produce products in a defense/aerospace manufacturing environment
- Extensive experience in harness fabrication and enclosure integration
- Working knowledge of "Lean 6-Sigma" methodology and effective problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- General to Moderate computer skills
- Ability to read and write English
Qualifications
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of defense/aerospace manufacturing experience
Nice to Have
- Team Lead/Group Leader/ Supervisory experience
- IPC-A-640 or equivalent/Fiber Optics Manufacturing
- 6-Sigma Green Belt training
