Lead system engineering and configuration management efforts for the Machine and Fabrication Shop, ensuring the maintenance, updates, and improvements of shop assets. This position supports the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts at Arnold AFB, TN.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, update, and improve shop assets, including machine tools, fabrication equipment, and air systems
- Develop, document, and complete maintenance and mechanical systems operating procedures
- Update and maintain system documentation for equipment/systems of responsibility
- Analyze spare parts inventories, determine and track needs, and organize spares
- Evaluate equipment for improvement, determine deficiencies, and improve reliability to increase throughput capability
- Manage the program for handheld O2 meters, including procedure updates and collaboration with Safety to set up meters based on safe exposure limits
- Identify manufacturing equipment/systems for recapitalization
- Work with reliability engineers to develop maintenance schedules and ensure material supply for equipment
- Perform root cause failure analyses and other equipment performance analyses, recommending remedial actions
- Conduct and write system safety hazard analyses and clear work instructions
- Respond to system malfunctions, troubleshooting and directing corrective maintenance activities
- Develop, estimate, and participate in improvement projects
- Collaborate with multiple organizations, including design engineering, planners, schedulers, and DoD client
- Assist skilled craft with troubleshooting and oversee their work, providing leadership and guidance
- Communicate clearly using various methods
Requirements
- BS degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to maintain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network
- U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDC

- Demonstrated experience building relationships with teams across engineering & craft workforce

- Exhibits strong level of technical curiosity and desire to seek understanding
- Active Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance
