This role is responsible for leading all supply planning, scheduling, and purchasing activities for finished goods, semi-finished goods, and raw materials. It involves developing long-term supply plans, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring optimal resource utilization while maintaining customer service objectives and inventory levels through the S&OP process.
Responsibilities
- Generate, oversee, and execute all supply planning, scheduling, and purchasing activities & procedures for finished goods, semi-finished goods, and raw materials.
- Develop long term finished goods supply plans supporting the consensus demand plan.
- Identify key risks and opportunities associated with supply plans and develop recommendations to optimize resource utilization, customer service, and inventory within the S&OP process.
- Present key assumptions, risks, and opportunities in the monthly Supply meeting.
- Develop and maintain production schedules supporting the supply plan, considering production resource limitations.
- Monitor schedule adherence and attainment, ensuring on-time production of finished goods.
- Communicate with Production Supervisors, Maintenance, and Engineering to identify and track constraints and capacity.
- Collaborate with finance and production to develop, enhance, and maintain processes for achieving absorption expectations.
- Support and incorporate continuous improvement initiatives into the Master Production Schedule.
- Work with R&D, Scale Up, and Operations on new product launches as the supply chain primary point of contact.
- Generate supply plans to support new product forecasts and plan engineering batches, qualification runs, and media fills.
- Facilitate the creation of new item numbers and support the supplier qualification process.
- Optimize direct material and production supplies cash flow and inventory investment, considering safety stock, contractual requirements, and supplier constraints.
- Develop net inventory projections incorporating raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
- Review raw material and intermediate expiration dates to optimize consumption and minimize expiring material.
- Identify key risks and opportunities associated with achieving net inventory objectives and develop recommendations to optimize working capital.
- Collaborate with finance to support the monthly inventory reserve process.
- Oversee the inventory destruction authorization process.
- Implement and track KPIs including forecast accuracy, inventory, schedule attainment, and back orders.
- Track, monitor, and present KPI performance on a monthly basis in the S&OP process.
- Investigate root cause and corrective actions and drive continuous improvement in KPI performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, science, engineering, or related programs
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment

Nice to Have
- CDMO experience
- Prior supply planning, scheduling, or other supply chain experience
- Continuous improvement / lean six sigma experience
