Manager, IS Applications (Epic)

About This Role

Manage the operational performance and coordination of critical computer systems for the health system. This role involves overseeing staff, acting as a project manager for system implementations, and ensuring effective communication for application support.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and leadership to staff engaged in complex computer system support, administration, maintenance, and upgrades
• Perform duties as a project manager for complex computer system implementation, vendor relations, and issue resolutions
• Ensure timely communication of work status and identify application, process, and quality improvement opportunities
• Lead, manage, coach, and train a team or department, providing guidance and mentorship
• Oversee recruitment, hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions for the team or department

Requirements

• 5+ years of healthcare/healthcare IS experience
• Demonstrated progressively responsible experience supporting complex computer systems
• IS project experience
• Epic Certification (must be obtained within 30 days of training)
• Strong knowledge of healthcare Electronic Medical Records processes
• Excellent organization, communication, and written skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or relevant combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of healthcare/healthcare IS experience and demonstrated progressively responsible experience supporting complex computer systems
