About This Role

Manage and grow a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects, primarily focusing on Los Angeles and the West Coast. This role involves frontline fundraising, donor-centered relationship management, and strategic partnership with leadership to significantly scale individual giving for GLAAD.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of 100-125 major donors and prospects, with a focus on Los Angeles and the West Coast
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors to meet a personal revenue goal scaling to $1M+ annually
  • Support senior staff and the Board of Directors in their major gift fundraising efforts
  • Collaborate with the Individual Giving team to move mid-level donors into the major gift pipeline
  • Leverage GLAAD engagement programs to deepen donor affinity
  • Maximize the impact of GLAAD’s signature high-profile events as strategic touchpoints for qualification and renewal
  • Draft high-quality stewardship, solicitation, and acknowledgement materials tailored to high-net-worth individuals
  • Proactively research and identify new major gift prospects within the GLAAD database and broader philanthropic community
  • Maintain high-integrity donor data within Salesforce, tracking engagement milestones and projecting annual revenue
  • Develop and oversee successful cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship events in collaboration with the GLAAD events team

Requirements

  • 5+ years of fundraising experience with a focus on major donor support
  • Proven track record of prospecting, cultivating, and securing gifts of $5,000 or more
  • Deep personal commitment to GLAAD's values and mission
  • Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills with significant direct donor interaction
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace
  • Experience with fundraising CRMs, preferably Salesforce

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years of demonstrated success as a frontline fundraiser who has consistently met or exceeded annual revenue goals and demonstrates progressively more responsibility over time, with an emphasis on securing individual major donor support.
