Maintenance Trainee

About This Role

This role is responsible for ensuring the overall maintenance of machines according to the maintenance plan, performing preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting and repairing plant equipment within their shift.

Responsibilities

• Ensure overall maintenance of machines according to maintenance plan
• Perform all preventative maintenance tasks as required
• Document all equipment maintenance on appropriate forms
• Maintain reliability and functionality of all mechanical equipment and processes
• Repair and test equipment to specification
• Troubleshoot and perform required tasks to maintain equipment in operational status
• Follow technical diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications for troubleshooting malfunctions
• Comply with all quality control, manufacturing, and safety procedures
• Check accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools, or sub-assemblies
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specification

Requirements

• 3 years’ experience as a Mechanic, Maintenance Specialist, or high-level Machine Operator role in manufacturing/industrial environment
• Problem solving skills
• Proficient with use of precision measurement equipment and tolerances
• Basic knowledge of welding, plumbing, and fabrication
• Experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, including fault analysis
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety, fire-prevention, and environmental protection regulations

Qualifications

• Vocational education a plus (Mechanical, Technical or similar)
• 3 years’ experience as a Mechanic, Maintenance Specialist, or high-level Machine Operator role in manufacturing/industrial environment.
