This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks, including repairs, turnover work, and renovation units, for a 344-unit multifamily community. The technician will respond to maintenance service requests and participate in after-hours coverage.
Responsibilities
- Work in turnover and renovation units
- Respond to maintenance service requests
- Perform external and internal repairs including drywall, painting, fence/gate repairs, plumbing, appliance repairs, boilers, and HVAC systems
- Participate in emergency and after-hours coverage
- Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine for repairs or fabrication
- Fabricate and repair cabinets, counters, benches, partitions, and wooden structures
- Maintain or assist in maintaining inventory and prepare related paperwork
- Keep storage facilities and equipment in an orderly, working condition
Requirements
- Experience in all trades (electrical, plumbing, drywall, paint, appliances)
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in performing quality work
- Ability to use required tools and machinery
- Professional interaction with co-workers, residents and vendors
- Knowledge and continued education of OSHA requirements
- Knowledge of MSDS requirements appropriate to the scope of work
- Ability to read and interpret service orders and documents
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work weekends
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, technical school, or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Nice to Have
- HVAC certification
- CPO certification
