Maintenance Technician II

About This Role

This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks, including repairs, turnover work, and renovation units, for a 344-unit multifamily community. The technician will respond to maintenance service requests and participate in after-hours coverage.

Responsibilities

• Work in turnover and renovation units
• Respond to maintenance service requests
• Perform external and internal repairs including drywall, painting, fence/gate repairs, plumbing, appliance repairs, boilers, and HVAC systems
• Participate in emergency and after-hours coverage
• Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine for repairs or fabrication
• Fabricate and repair cabinets, counters, benches, partitions, and wooden structures
• Maintain or assist in maintaining inventory and prepare related paperwork
• Keep storage facilities and equipment in an orderly, working condition

Requirements

• Experience in all trades (electrical, plumbing, drywall, paint, appliances)
• Demonstrated knowledge and skill in performing quality work
• Ability to use required tools and machinery
• Professional interaction with co-workers, residents and vendors
• Knowledge and continued education of OSHA requirements
• Knowledge of MSDS requirements appropriate to the scope of work
• Ability to read and interpret service orders and documents
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work weekends

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, technical school, or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice to Have

• HVAC certification
• CPO certification
