Maintenance Mechanic Lead

About This Role

Lead and direct maintenance mechanics, performing and overseeing inspections, troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and preventive maintenance on building and plant mechanical equipment to ensure safe and continuous operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct maintenance mechanics in performing daily duties.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform emergency repairs (including all actions necessary to render a situation, system, or component in a safe condition).
• Maintain building and plant mechanical equipment in response to service requests and directives, and perform preventive maintenance.
• Make periodic inspections and repairs on all major and minor mechanical systems including pumps, fans, air handling equipment, cooling towers, and mechanical drive components.
• Perform minor electrical troubleshooting and repairs, such as diagnosing bad motors, resetting overload assemblies, and replacing ballasts and switches.
• Train other Mechanics and maintenance department staff in proper methods of repairing, maintaining, and operating equipment.
• Comply with OSHA, EPA, and Environmental Health and Safety directives, including the use of protective materials.
• Respond to verbal and written trouble calls and perform emergency repairs to restore service, protect persons, and abate damages.
• Maintain, repair, and install all Facilities related equipment as directed by supervisor.
• Participate on snow removal team upon request.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate
• 5+ years of experience in the maintenance field
• 2+ years as a Lead Mechanic or equivalent
• Proficient in Windows based software and comfortable navigating the Internet
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA and EHS guidelines
• Ability to communicate in English through speech, reading and writing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate
• Minimum of five years' experience in the maintenance field with a minimum of 2 years as a Lead Mechanic or equivalent. Knowledge of OSHA, EPA and EHS guidelines are essential.
