Maintenance Mechanic A

About This Role

Perform maintenance tasks and work orders on all assigned facilities and equipment, ensuring effective and efficient operation for a leading grocery retail supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all equipment and facilities are operating effectively and efficiently to support operations and meet regulatory requirements
• Carry out duties productively and learn new skills through training and job shadowing
• Enter work into the computer maintenance system and use it to investigate repeat repairs
• Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment and systems with little or no assistance
• Safely shut down systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with standards, codes, and regulations
• Troubleshoot and repair complex systems and equipment
• Meet evaluation standards on work orders and observations by management
• Provide guidance and training to Mechanic B level individuals and support associates
• Remain proficient in maintenance trade and stay current with technology through training courses
• Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes to maximize efficiency and reduce costs
• Ensure compliance with company standards in accuracy, safety and productivity
• Perform work at elevated levels in areas such as safety, electrical, refrigeration, material handling, mechanical, welding, fire systems, and domestic water/waste water
• Follow good sanitation practices and maintain a clean work area

Requirements

• Prior experience in mechanical areas
• Certified on powered industrial equipment where applicable
• Familiarity/experience in maintenance environment
• Elevated experience, expertise, and proficiency in at least one of the following: Safety, Electrical, Refrigeration, Material Handling, Mechanical, Welding, Fire Systems, Domestic Water/Waste Water
• Ability to supply own tools

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent
• Prior experience in mechanical areas
