Maintenance Director

About This Role

This role involves maintaining all maintenance and housekeeping functions within an assisted living facility. The Director will use strong maintenance skills to perform tasks such as electrical, carpentry, and HVAC repairs, while also overseeing staff and financial operations. This position requires a hands-on approach and interaction with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and coordinate tasks to accomplish repairs and alterations to buildings and equipment systems
• Provide technical support, product information, research, and quality assurance guidance
• Establish and monitor a preventative maintenance program that promotes well-being and aesthetic appeal for residents and staff
• Maintain OSHA and fire code compliance
• Perform various hands-on maintenance tasks including electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and general maintenance
• Oversee staff, payroll, operational expenses, supply and capital expenditures

Requirements

• Previous maintenance and housekeeping management experience in a long-term care or assisted living facility
• Strong working knowledge of applicable building systems, including mechanical/electrical/plumbing with a strong emphasis on HVAC
• Understanding of all applicable life safety regulations
• Demonstrated ability to run a successful maintenance and housekeeping department
• Experience in facilities management capacity
• Good communication skills
• Previous supervisory experience required
• Diagnostic abilities and skills in completing details
• Understanding of practices surrounding proper handling of biohazardous waste

Qualifications
