About This Role

This role is for an experienced Adabas/Natural software developer to support and enhance existing mainframe applications, involving analysis, development, troubleshooting, testing, and documentation. The ideal candidate will work independently and collaborate with technical teams and end-users to deliver solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, implement, and support existing mainframe applications
  • Develop and enhance software using Natural and Adabas
  • Revise/adapt existing code, troubleshoot defects, and resolve production issues
  • Perform system testing and debugging; support UAT and fix issues identified during testing
  • Work with technical teams and business/end users to understand issues and deliver solutions
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure quality and alignment with functional/technical requirements
  • Create and maintain documentation (technical documentation, end-user manuals, and status updates)
  • Support system upgrades and improvements; evaluate tools/enhancements as needed

Requirements

  • 5+ years Natural development (Software AG Natural)
  • 5+ years Adabas development
  • Mainframe tools and processes: TSO, JCL, FTP
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience preparing technical documentation

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Natural development and 5+ years of Adabas development experience

Nice to Have

  • COBOL
  • SQL Server
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
