LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse (Psych)

About This Role

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (Psych), you will provide safe, person-centered nursing care in a coed adult withdrawal management/early recovery residential program, supporting clients with substance use issues. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, monitoring withdrawal symptoms, administering medications, and helping clients stabilize in a structured environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide general nursing care services within the legal scope of nursing practice and standards
• Use professional nursing processes including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Communicate health care needs of clients to appropriate supervising staff
• Respond to emergency health care needs of clients
• Monitor client supervision and therapeutic milieu activities
• Maintain adherence to posted schedules
• Facilitate residential community groups as scheduled or as needed
• Supervise house checks on a regular and random basis
• Coordinate shift turnover for smooth transitions and information dissemination
• Perform health screenings of clients
• Collect and record data specific to the health status of clients
• Assist in monitoring special programs such as infection control and medication management
• Provide health care instruction and information to clients relating to health and wellness

Requirements

• Currently licensed in Virginia as an LPN
• Minimum of two years experience in addictions/psychiatric nursing
• Ability to commit to mandatory training and orientation period

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years experience in addictions/psychiatric nursing

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a substance use treatment facility
• Experience working in a psych facility
