LPN, 2nd Shift Monday-Friday

About This Role

Provide high-quality direct patient care as a Licensed Practical Nurse on the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, at a state psychiatric facility. This role involves administering medications, implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support mental wellness recovery.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a safe, therapeutic environment for a specific patient population in a 24/7 psychiatric hospital
• Provide work direction to PNA staff, under supervision of an RN
• Maintain accountability in a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment
• Create healthy interpersonal interactions on adult acute admissions unit, geriatric unit, and extended rehabilitation service unit
• Observe and report feedback regarding interventions, treatments, behaviors, physical and emotional wellbeing, and other situations
• Document and communicate patient information accurately
• Use specialized training for promoting mental wellness recovery
• Prioritize time to meet patient's needs and provide direct patient care duties as assigned
• Implement all individual treatment plans as written
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and report and document patient education and response according to policy and procedure

Requirements

• Knowledge of illness and treatment modalities including medication administration
• Ability to implement nursing care plans and provide guidance to other staff
• Ability to delegate and supervise nursing staff
• Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and sign)
• Ability to participate in an interdisciplinary team
• Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Ability to work overtime due to staffing emergencies
• Complete all annual competency training including TOVA III with physical restraints
• Knowledge of recovery/trauma informed care
