About This Role

Safely and courteously transport program participants to their assigned destinations while upholding a professional appearance and maintaining flexibility in scheduling. This role also involves assisting with basic vehicle maintenance checks and ensuring fleet cleanliness.

Responsibilities

  • Execute transportation schedule in a timely manner, adjusting to changing circumstances and maintaining communication with airport, airlines, and OPTC staff.
  • Conduct basic maintenance checks of assigned vehicles and fleet to ensure safety and functionality, identifying and reporting potential problems.
  • Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage and aid them in boarding and departing the vehicle, answering questions about the OPTC and surrounding area.
  • Document all instances of transporting a minor one-on-one in accordance with the U.S. Center for Safe Sport’s "Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies" (MAAPP).
  • Respond to transportation needs on short notice.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor, displaying punctuality, neatness, and respect for equipment.
  • Keep assigned vehicles clean and functional.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid New York state driver’s license (class B)
  • 3+ years experience operating multi-passenger vehicles
  • Knowledge of vehicle operations and preventive maintenance procedures
  • Clean driving record
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience operating multi-passenger vehicles

Nice to Have

  • Class C license (required within one year of start of employment)
