St. Catherine's School is seeking a Lower School lead teacher to create a flexible, nurturing class environment that cultivates learning and personal growth for students. This role involves developing and teaching curriculum, documenting student progress, and establishing positive relationships with families and faculty.
Responsibilities
- Develop and teach curriculum based on national elementary education standards, research, and developmental skills, covering language arts, mathematics, social studies, and character education
- Provide individualized and small group instruction using various strategies like inquiry, group discussion, and discovery to adapt curriculum to student needs
- Document children's social-emotional and academic progress, as well as process thinking and learning through anecdotal notes, work samples, digital portfolio creation, and report cards
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with families through conferences, narrative report card comments, emails, and phone calls
- Identify student needs and collaborate with faculty, staff, and support personnel in assessing and supporting students' health, attitude, and learning needs
- Contribute positively to the School's culture and community by adhering to professional standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience
- Adaptability to new and evolving technology
- Proficiency with oral and written communication
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited university, or equivalent work experience
