Local Delivery Truck Driver

About This Role

Safely and efficiently transport sheet metal products, in-process parts to vendors, and finished goods to customers around the Indianapolis area. This role requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport sheet metal products to and from specified locations around the Indianapolis area
• Efficiently plan routes to help meet delivery schedules
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Secure product and properly arrange and balance it within the truck to prevent damage
• Assist in the loading and unloading of goods, using hand trucks and forklifts as required
• Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries with clients
• Interact with customers and vendors in a professional manner and maintain a positive attitude
• Refuel and clean box truck as needed
• Obey and follow applicable traffic laws making safety a priority at all times
• Notify management of any accidents, parking tickets, vehicle damage, and major maintenance issues
• Follow written or oral instructions regarding daily tasks and job duties

Requirements

• Clean driving record
• Indiana For-Hire Endorsement

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven work experience as a truck driver; previous warehouse and delivery experience preferred

• Previous warehouse and delivery experience
• Current commercial driver's license (CDL)
