Provide skilled technical nursing care to patients on the 2E Surgical Nursing unit at Ocean Springs Hospital, adhering to established standards and the plan of care.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled technical nursing care to patients according to predefined standards
- Provide care based on a plan established by a Nurse Practitioner or Physician
- Utilize the MS Nurse Practice Act for patient care
- Follow CDC Guidelines for Infection Control
- Adhere to Singing River Health System Departments of Nursing Plan for Provision of Care, Treatment and Services
- Operate standard office equipment such as computer keyboard
- Demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment for patients of all ages
Requirements
- Current State of Mississippi licensed as an LPN
- Complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer
- Complete and maintain de-escalation training by the end of position orientation (90 days)
- Proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited School of Nursing program for Licensed Practical Nursing.
- 6 months nursing experience preferred. Entry level position, but 6 months experience is a plus.
