This role will support the Legal functions at Nearwater Capital, ensuring business activities comply with regulatory requirements and legal best practices. The Legal Analyst/Paralegal will administer documentation and assist the in-house legal department.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal administrative support to the in-house legal department, business units, and operations team
- Coordinate completion of documentation (know-your-customer questionnaires, incumbency certificates, resolutions) for new counterparties
- Review documentation submitted against firm standards
- Review and draft confirmations and related transaction documentation
- Organize, oversee, and coordinate the closing of transactions
- Maintain transaction closing sets
- Assist on topical research pieces (e.g., risk retention, trends in loan/borrower structural provisions, impact of court rulings)
- Perform other related legal/paralegal functions and ad hoc projects as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Professional, efficient, resourceful
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
- Willingness and ability to be a team player
