The Lead Veterinarian will serve as the medical leader for the practice, fostering a positive work environment, ensuring quality veterinary medicine, and partnering with the Practice Manager on operational and financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the medical leader of the practice, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Ensure quality and appropriate veterinary medicine is performed within the practice in collaboration with the associate veterinarian and Regional Medical Director
- Partner with the Practice Manager in matters of general management, staffing/scheduling, and ensuring operational and financial goals are met
- Support the development of staff members through the company’s LevelUp clinical training program
- Promote the human-animal bond through exceptional client experience
- Manage multiple patients and varying priorities within allotted timeframes
- Oversee the medical care of all patients and serve as the veterinarian of record for all required hospital permits and licenses
- Partner with Practice Manager to set medical standards within the hospital and supervise client communication
- Collaborate with Regional Medical Director to establish medical guidelines and support medical training of support staff
Requirements
- DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited college (or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program)
- Active license in good standing to practice in the state in which candidate will be employed (or the ability to obtain a license in that state)
